About us

Stand Up for the Homeless, Inc. ("Stand Up") is an IRS 501c3 recognized charitable non-profit corporation headquartered in Los Angeles, California, and is the brainchild of professional Stand-Up Comedian, Ray Gerard Lipowski and his five-year vision to develop an outreach focused nonprofit organization.

Phase 1

In Phase 1, seven days a week, we will continue to feed and clothe thousands of Southern California citizens. We currently feed and clothe our homeless population in Downtown, Los Angeles four times per month on Saturdays. Operating at the Skid Row intersection of Sixth Street and Towne Avenue, we plan to soon branch out to other locations where we're needed. We have fed and clothed approximately thirty thousand (30,000) people since the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic, but so much more work and need remains. With your support, our ultimate goal is to feed and clothe up to fifty thousand (50,00) citizens per week, but also permanently house or facilitate housing placement for approximately twenty-five thousand (25,000) people. Our preliminary strategy consists of purchasing and rehabilitating low-cost properties sourced through public agencies, banks, developers, and real estate investors. We can only accomplish these goals with your kind donations and support, or through the sale of our branded Stand Up merchandise.

Phase 2

Phase 2 of our mission will allow us to replicate our success through local chapters of Stand Up in communities where our services are needed in our great nation. With your partnership we can accomplish this and so much more. With the state of homelessness in the United States, we can no longer sit idle on the sidelines, as it's time for everyone to "stand up for the homeless"!
